Principal's Message

BMS Families,
As we approach the end of September, I want to take a moment to thank our students, families, and staff for the positive start to the school year. We continue to settle into our routines, build relationships, and establish the expectations that help make Bellingham Memorial School a safe, supportive, and academically focused community.
A reminder that there will be no school on Monday, September 21, in observance of Yom Kippur. We wish those in our BMS community who are observing a meaningful and reflective holiday.
We have also recently completed our i-Ready assessments, which provide our teachers with valuable information about each student's current academic strengths and areas for growth. Our teachers and teams are using this information to make thoughtful adjustments to instruction—meeting students where they are while also providing the appropriate level of challenge to help every student continue to grow. This work is an important part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that all students are appropriately supported and challenged in their learning.
As we continue to grow as a school community, I also want to remind families of our expectations regarding cell phones and smart watches. During the school day, these devices should be turned off and away unless a teacher or administrator has provided specific permission for their use. If you need to reach your student during the school day, please contact the BMS Main Office at 508-883-2330, and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are off to a positive start, and there is still much work ahead as we continue to help our students do their best and commit to success.
Sincerely,
Josh
