Principal's Message

Dear BMS Families,
As we head into the long weekend, I want to wish all of you a relaxing and enjoyable long weekend. We hope everyone has an opportunity to spend time with family and friends, recharge, and enjoy the break. Monday is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a day that provides an opportunity to recognize and learn about the history, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous peoples.
I also want to give a huge shoutout to our BMS PTO for putting together a fantastic Fun Run Pep Rally! It was exciting to see our students come together, show their school spirit, and celebrate our BMS community. The energy in the gym was outstanding, and events like this are a great reminder of what makes our school such a special place to be.

A special thank-you as well to our students and staff who helped make the pep rally such a success — and to our BMS Band for providing an incredible soundtrack to the celebration!

The Fun Run is right around the corner, and we are excited to continue building on the momentum from the pep rally. Information about how families can sign up to donate, participate, or help support the event can be found later in this newsletter. We are grateful for all of the ways our families contribute to making opportunities like this possible for our students.
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support of BMS. We have had a terrific start to the school year, and it was wonderful to see our students finish the week with so much enthusiasm and BMS pride.
Enjoy the long weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone back at school next week!
Go BMS!

Ski Club 2026-2027

Ski Club is a 6-week ski and snowboard program at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area in Princeton, MA.
This is a great program for first time or experienced skiers and snowboarders. Ski Lessons and Rental Equipment are available for all levels.  All students in grades 4th through 12th and their parents are welcome. Ski Club is the ideal way for kids to get outdoors during the winter for a fun, healthy activity, at a great price!

Ski Club starts Sunday, January 3, 2027, and runs for six (6) Sundays. We take a charter bus from the High School parking lot, leaving at 2:30pm. We ski from 4:30pm to 8:00pm, and return to the High School around 9:30 p.m.

Packets are available for pick up in the BMS Main Office!

From the Nurse

4th Grade screening is mostly complete. I just have a few make-ups/redos to finish up. Only failed screenings will be reported to the parents/guardians.

I have seen quite a few foot and ankle injuries this week due to inappropriate footwear during Physical Education (gym). Please make sure your student is wearing shoes that are closed back and toe secured with laces or velcro. Crocs, sandals, and flip-flops are NOT appropriate shoes for PE!

Thank you.
Maureen

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thank You,
Maureen

Staff Spotlight

Staff Spotlight - Mrs. Correia

  • What subject(s) do you teach?
  • I am a 5th grade Special Education Teacher

  • What inspired you to become a teacher?
  • I was inspired to become a teacher because my little brother really struggled with reading due to his misdiagnosed dyslexia. I always wanted to make sure kids didn't slip through the cracks like he did and find ways to be able to help students feel confident in subjects even when they feel hard.

  • What is your favorite part about being a teacher?
  • I love being a teacher because I love building relationships with students. I always look forward to watching students who may have struggled, celebrate their biggest success stories with me, whether it's academic or not.

  • What is one thing you hope your students learn from you this year?
  • I hope my students can learn to be confident and model being a good person wherever they go.

  • What is one piece of advice you would give to students?
  • One piece of advice I would give students is that we set goals, we work hard to meet them and then we set even bigger goals in all areas of life.

  • What is one fun fact about you that you want the BMS community to know?
  • I am extremely competitive and love running but my favorite thing in life so far is being a mom to two boys.
