BMS Families,
As we approach Veterans Day, we are reminded of the special meaning behind the name Bellingham Memorial School. Our school was named in honor of the veterans of the Town of Bellingham, and that connection is something we are proud to recognize and celebrate.
Veterans Day provides us with an opportunity to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served our country. Because of their courage, commitment, and service, we have the opportunity to learn, grow, build friendships, and come together each day in a safe and caring school community. We are grateful for the freedoms and opportunities that their service has helped protect.
This Monday will be a particularly special day at BMS as we welcome local veterans into our school community. Our veterans will be recognized during our annual Heroes Parade, and they will also spend time meeting with small groups of students, answering questions, and sharing their personal stories and experiences. These conversations provide a meaningful opportunity for our students to learn about service, sacrifice, courage, and the importance of honoring those who have served.
We encourage all students and staff to show their school spirit and appreciation by wearing patriotic colors (red, white, and blue) on Monday as we come together to recognize our special guests.
At Bellingham Memorial School, we are fortunate to carry a name that represents something bigger than ourselves. We look forward to making this a memorable day for our students, staff, and visiting veterans.
To all who have served and continue to serve, thank you for your courage, your sacrifices, and your commitment to our country. We are forever grateful!
Sincerely,
Josh
